President's Message

Welcome to the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies!

First of all, thank you for considering our college for your post-secondary education. At SIIT, student success is our top priority. We believe that our students achieve their goals through high quality programs, instructional staff and resources. We are committed to ensuring that students have the skills and background they require for gainful employment in today's labour market.

We offer certificate and diploma programs as well as adult education and short-term applied certificates. We have a number of locations where there is permanent programming and we also have had a presence at a number of First Nations communities.

SIIT is a dynamic and vibrant college. Over the past year and through to September 2010, we will have been engaged in capital and program expansion. Renovations are proceeding at our Saskatoon Campus so we may be able to enhance our program delivery and environment. After introducing our Mobile Career Coaches last year, we have received positive feedback and experienced significant growth in this area. We have been delivering transitional programming to enhance our student experience and increase followup and aftercare. Career Centres in the province have expanded locations and we are now able to provide training opportunities to individuals in new areas. You will also notice our Aviation Learning Centre is being built at the Saskatoon Airport. This will house our Aircraft Maintenance Engineer program, with a first intake scheduled for the Fall of 2010.

Through years of training, educating and delivering our programming to the First Nations people and communities in Saskatchewan, we have secured strong recognition within the Saskatchewan training system. SIIT continues to grow and we look forward to further opportunities with communities and other stakeholders.

I would like to thank all of our stakeholder groups, and specifically our Board of Governors, for ensuring SIIT has been a strong, long-term, stable organization. At SIIT, we believe in the strength of our students and our commitment to help them acquire the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in their chosen career.

Thank you for your interest in the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies, and good luck in your educational endeavours!

Sincerely,
Randell Morris, MBA, CAFM
