Vice President of Finance
Terrence W. (Terry) McAdam CA, CAFM
Terry has been employed with SIIT since April 1983 in the positions of VP Administration and VP Finance. He has seen the institution grow from a small vocational school with a budget of less than $2M to the existing vibrant post-secondary college with annual revenues of more than $23M.
Terry grew up in small-town Saskatchewan and received his Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Accounting from the University of Saskatchewan in 1978. He began articling with Price Waterhouse in Calgary and completed articling with Price Waterhouse in Saskatoon, where he obtained his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 1981. Terry received his Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) designation in 2006.
The support of the Management team and Board of Governors has resulted in strong financial controls and governance procedures put in place at SIIT. Terry works closely with the Finance Committee established by the Board of Governors to ensure adequate fiscal and financial management of SIIT. Planning and implementing a strong financial reporting system has been a priority for SIIT, and the Finance department staff have worked diligently to provide accurate and timely information to the Finance Committee.
Terry has always had a strong interest in sports. He is a Level 2 certified ringette coach and has also coached hockey and fastball. He has served in many volunteer positions including President of Saskatoon Ringette and Ringette Saskatchewan. Terry currently serves on the Board of Ringette Canada and is Chair of the Finance Committee. He is married and has three children.
Terry oversees the Finance department of SIIT and is also responsible for the Information Technology area. The SIIT Call Centre and the Village Cafe also fall under the supervision of this department.
The Finance department has approximately ten staff and is responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, payables and receivables, payroll, tuition billings, contract control, insurance, and many other auxiliary services relating to finance and administration. We have many experienced and dedicated group of individuals of who are SIIT graduates.
The SIIT Call Centre has been in existence for many years and currently employs five full-time and many part-time staff. The Call Centre provides contract services and does mostly sub-contract work with private sector agencies. Our experienced staff have been employed with SIIT for a number of years and provide services in Cree, Dene, Saulteaux and English.
The Village Cafe employs three staff and is located at the downtown campus. The Cafe provides daily specials, soup and sandwiches, baked goods and also catering services.
