The JobFind Project Facilitator will be responsible for delivering SIIT programs and curricula with the purpose of promoting client success. They plan, organize and implement an instructional program which creates a learning environment that guides and ensures each client is successful. The Facilitator must keep current with developments in their subject area, instructional resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities to suit the individual needs of their clients. Working collaboratively with other SIIT employees and partners, the Facilitator will demonstrate a strong commitment to create and maintain a creative and positive learning environment at SIIT.  

The JobFind Project Facilitator is responsible for assisting clients find suitable employment. The incumbent will facilitate groups of nearly ready job ready clients to obtain employment. The facilitator collect, organize and analyze information in order to inform clients on employment opportunities.This position is responsible to identify employment requirements and help clients develop plans for overcoming barriers and reach career goals.The JobFind Facilitator will build and maintain relationships and partnerships with communities, employment agencies and businesses to best meet the needs of SIIT clients.This position includes the following broad range of accountabilities:

  • Prepare lesson plans and appropriate delivery methods, following the curriculum provided
  • Create and maintain all course-related materials including evaluations, attendance records, and course evaluations
  • Use appropriate methods of instruction, modeling, and coaching to facilitate client learning
  • Work closely with participants of the JobFind Project to identify their barriers to employment and determine appropriate solutions
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to coordinate activity for client income support and attendance
  • Provide assistance, guidance, and information to clients on all aspects of employment search and career planning
  • Network and build relationships with appropriate employment agencies, networks and employers
  • Document and report client results as required

Required Qualifications and Experience: A degree or diploma in the Human Services field, or a Life Skills certificate is preferred. Two (2) years of related experience in Facilitating or teaching and experience and knowledge of local and provincial labour market. Experience in assessing and counseling First Nation adults is considered an asset. Experience working with Microsoft Office suite of programs is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations would be an asset. Incumbent must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation as travel may be required. For success in this position a genuine commitment to help clients learn and succeed is required.
