Established in 1976, the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is a First Nation governed post-secondary institution. Recognized under provincial legislation, the Institute has been conferred authority to grant certificates and diplomas. The incumbent delivers structured tutorial sessions to SIIT students in a group setting ensuring coordination with appropriate faculty and assists during consultation hours. As an employee of SIIT, positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT’s vision, mission and mandate.

  • Provide group tutoring to students in the Business program
  • Prepare tutoring sessions in conjunction with instructors to ensure students meet academic standards
  • Help students with study strategies and techniques
  • Regular evaluation of the students
  • Creativity in providing student-focused solutions
  • Create and maintain a creative and positive learning environment that provides the opportunity for meaningful learning
  • Adhere to and promote academic regulations and SIIT policies and procedures
  • Develops and maintains respectful relations through the use of problem solving and     constructive resolution of student issues
  • Ensures a positive, diverse and inclusive work and learning environment

Required Qualifications and Experience: A business related degree or diploma from an accredited institution. A current upper year student in a degree program. For success in this position a genuine commitment to help students learn and succeed is required. Prior teaching experience would be preferred. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations would be an asset.
