In cases where a potential student is not eligible for band funding, it may be helpful to research other avenues of funding such as student loans, PTA, scholarships, awards or bursaries.

Student Loans

The federal and provincial governments jointly offer students financial assistance for those wanting to pursue post-secondary education. A student loan is repayable funding. Applications for the Canada-Saskatchewan Integrated Student Loans Program may be found at www.student-loans.sk.ca or contact:

Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries

These are non repayable financial aid awards eligible for students wishing to pursue post secondary education. The selection criteria for each are different and vary according to area of study, academic average, financial need, community involvement and/or attendance. Provincial Training Allowance (PTA) Advanced Education, Employment & Labour

For individuals who need an income while attending programs such as Adult Basic Education, workforce development initiatives, or quick skills training can apply for the Saskatchewan Provincial Training Allowance. PTA does not approve applicants who are pursuing post-secondary programs longer than 12 weeks or certain quick skills training.
