Program Overview

There is a strong need for workers in all aspects of the Automotive Service industry in Saskatchewan. This program is a 14 week program designed to prepare Aboriginal people who are interested in a career path into this industry. This program will provide students with an understanding of the job possibilities and related requirements for employment in the industry as well as provide basic hands-on skill development. Students will also develop individual career action plans to guide them to achieve their career goals.
 

Entrance Requirements

  • The minimum academic requirement is Grade 10 Math and Grade 10 Science.
  • The non-academic requirement is a Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Applications should include recent high school transcripts, SIN number, and copies of any other certificates obtained. Applicants with lower academic credentials may be considered. If an applicant does not have the completed academic requirement, then an entrance test may need to be taken to show comparable level of academic skills. Other factors that would be considered could include work history, life experience, attitude, and potential for success in the program.
     

Career Opportunities

  • Graduates will find entry-level work in the automotive service industry.
  • Graduates may also apply to further specific skill development training initiatives for the automotive service industry.
     

Length of Program

  • 14 weeks
     

Graduation Document- Applied Certificate.

  • Students must pass all courses in the program to graduate. The assessment method is pass/fail.
