Program Overview

This program is designed to provide the basic skills needed for entry-level work on a residential or industrial construction site. Participants develop skills in construction academics, site safety, the use of hand tools, and the basics of the construction industry. Participants have an opportunity to explore and develop a good understanding of the work involved in several trades, such as carpentry, drywalling, and roofing.

Admission Requirements:

  • Academic RequirementsMinimum Grade 10; Adult 10; or GED standing
  • Non-Academic Requirements:  An interview and Safety Construction Orientation Training (SCOT) or Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)

Length of Program:

  • 10 weeks
