POWER ENGINEERING - 4th CLASS

Learners develop the knowledge and skills to become operating personnel in plants that use high pressure boilers. Learners gain the necessary skills to operate and maintain, in a safe and efficient manner, the equipment found in industrial settings and steam-generating facilities.

At the end of the program, learners will be prepared to write the exams for the Saskatchewan 4th Class Power Engineering License administered by the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan.

Graduates can expect salaries ranging from $40,000 – $98,000.

Career Opportunities

Graduates will find employment primarily in industrial facilities using high pressure boilers such as pulp and paper operations, OSB plants, the oil and gas industry, the mining industry, heating and power plants, in food processing plants, and in hospitals and other large facilities.

 

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements:

  • Complete Grade 12 or Adult 12 preferred

  • Math 30 – Foundations or Pre-Calculus – Minimum 60% preferred

  • Submit most up-to-date high school transcript
  • Submit a confirmation of enrolment of your final semester courses
