Resume & Cover Letters
Your resume and cover letter represent you to a potential employer. The job coach can help you tailor your resume & cover letter to help you land an interview.
Interviews can be nerve-wracking. Sign up for a mock interview to help you learn confidence and prepare you for questions you may encounter. Preparing in a practice setting will help you feel more relaxed when it's time for the real thing.
Explore full-time, part-time or summer employment opportunities and stay in touch with your Job Coach to make sure your transition is a good one. If you need to increase skills in certain areas, your Job Coach will find resources to help you.
To prepare you professionally, Job Coaches organize employment readiness information sessions ranging from business etiquette and occupational health and safety to customer service and alumni perspectives. Information sessions happen monthly and are mandatory starting in Fall 2010. Detailed schedules are available from the Life Coaching Office.
The Job Coach subscribes to many web feeds and receives emails for job postings. The process is very informal and postings are forwarded to various Saskatoon career service agencies. Contact the job coach directly to review recent postings.
SIIT Job Coaches want to hear from employers from large corporations, as well as small and medium sized businesses, to build employment partnerships for students. If you would like to recruit SIIT students for work experiences or employment, contact the Job Coach in the Life Coaching Office at 1-306-477-9344.
